Maleficent Wallpaper

I am not a fan of the new Maleficent movie and even less so of Angelina Jolie who I thought ruined the character. She looked the way I imagined her, but that’s where it ended for me. I was online however seeing what I could find and came across this gorgeous Maleficent wallpaper. It’s perfectly gorgeous and scary and restored my faith in the character. It’s even on sale at this particular moment and you can get it here.

Skull & Bones Wallcovering

As I have stated many times before, as a general rule I do not like wallpaper. I have over the years come across one or two that I would actually consider putting in my home, but this one is not one of them. Not to say I don’t like it, because I do. It’s just that I abhor removing wallpaper once I get tired of it. As a former Interior Designer I dealt with this issue a lot from clients and I usually tried to steer them in another direction. Anyway, this paper is fun. I think it would be cute in a pirate themed room for a child. The only thing that kind of turns me off is I get a very Ralph Lauren/’80s preppy vibe from it and being a dyed-in-the-wool scary girl it just doesn’t work for me. If that doesn’t bother you then you can buy it here.

Creepy Wallpapers

Ms. Ward wallpaperAs I have stated before I am not really a wallpaper fan. I do come across ones that I like now and then, but when I think of trying to remove it one day, when I get tired of it, I come to my senses. There is one thing I’m sure of though, I will never want to put bug wallpaper on my walls. This wallpaper, called Ms. Ward, is actually very cool looking, but I know I would start feeling the creepy crawlies every time I looked at it. I like scary, but not creepy crawlies. This was designed by Katie Deedy of Grow House Grow and part of the Naturalist Collection which features long forgotten women of science. Mary Ward (1827-1869), the inspiration for this pattern, was a renowned entomologist. Each wallpaper design has a neat little story attached to it and all of them are worth checking out. Many different papers are in the series, but the one I find incredibly fascinating is the paper called Aleister. That one is based on Ka Cox and her bizarre run-in with the infamous Aleister Crowley (1875-1947) in Cornwall during the summer of 1938 when she mysteriously passed away. Anything attached to “the wickedest man in the world” is usually worth a read.

As I have stated before, I am not a fan of wallpaper. Wallpaper is a PAIN to remove when you get tired of it, so I swore off wallpaper years ago. Of course ever since I said that I keep finding more and more wallpaper that I want. Must control myself and not get any…ever. Well maybe this one. Camille Rose Garcia is an amazing artist that creates the most visually creepy and amazing images. Ms. Garcia creates everything from paintings to dolls to books. She has fans out there that are devoted to her unusual art and create amazing tattoos from it. She even created the cool wallpaper on the left, but at about $200 a roll maybe I will have to settle for one of her prints…or not. They start at $400. Maybe she makes coasters?Camille Rose Garcia ArtworkCamille Rose Garcia Wallpaper

Skull Wallpaper

Skull WallpaperOMG! Sometimes people email me links to various things they think I might find interesting. Sometimes they are pretty cool and sometimes they are duds. This, my friends, is the best item yet! My new best friend sent me a link to this Skull Wallpaper. I am in love. Unfortunately my love doesn’t come cheap at $125 for a 32.8′ roll. This wallpaper was designed by Barbara Hulanicki who obviously has a fun side to her. This is someone I’d like to get to know. I think it’s great that from far away you really can’t tell what the design is. It’s not until you get up close that you realize it’s just a bunch of skulls. This would look so great in my new house. I’m not a big fan of wallpaper in general and don’t put it in my house, but for this great stuff I might just have to break my rule.

* Thanks SusieQ for the link. You are my new best friend! 😉
