Vampire Wine

Filexd under: Bar,TV/Movies — Tags: , , — jane @ 1:12 pm

Vampire WineI love a good bottle of rich red wine. Whether it be Merlot, Cabernet or Pinot Noir I’m drinking it. Actually any color wine I’m happy with. Well, to be honest almost any kind of alcohol makes me purr with pleasure. In small quantities of course. Anyway, I was recently served a bottle of wine at a friends house for dinner and I just loved it. Of course it didn’t hurt that it was called Vampire Wine and we all know how much I love vampires. I had the Cabernet, so I really can’t vouch for their other offerings, but it was delicious. It reminded me of that scene in the movie The Lost Boys when David gets Michael to drink wine from a bottle that turns out to be blood. You know everything always reminds me of a movie. Anyhow, I poked around on their website and they have a whole line of wines, beer, vodka, energy drinks and even coffee! You can order all of this online, but I have only been able to find the wine in one store so far. You should check out their website. It has some great links and even a fun backstory that is really worth a read. Be one of us and sip the blood of the vine!

Creepy Crochet Book

Filexd under: Books,Crafts — Tags: , , , — jane @ 10:35 am

Creepy Cute Crochet bookQuite a few years ago I learned how to crochet and I got hooked! Ha! Bad pun intended. Anyway, I am always looking for creepy things to crochet and let me tell you there isn’t much. I end up making up my own patterns most of the time. Well now I have found this amigurumi Creepy Crochet Book and it has made me so very happy. Amigurumi, if you don’t already know, is the Japanese art of crocheting small stuffed animals and human like creatures. This book has patterns to create a zombie, vampires, chuthlu, aliens, a grim reaper, skeletons and many more. Now I have the perfect gift for Christmas! Who wouldn’t want to get a little grim reaper under their tree?

Hungry for Vampires

Filexd under: News/Articles,TV/Movies — Tags: — jane @ 1:24 pm

EW Vampire StoryLast week Entertainment Weekly did a big cover story on vampires called “Hungry for Vampires”. They interviewed a lot of the popular authors that are writing vampire fiction right now including Anne Rice, Stephanie Meyer, Melissa de la Cruz, Laurell K. Hamilton, Charlaine Harris and P.C. Cast. The best part of the article, however was the rating of their idea of the 20 Greatest Vampires of All Time. In general I agree with the vampires they chose, but not the order. I believe two great vampires were missed and should have been included in there somewhere. Jerry Dandrige played by Chris Sarandon in Fright Night was a creepy vampire even if he was somewhat campy and Spike, my personal favorite, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Spike was the Billy Idol of vampires and James Marsters, who played him, did a brilliant job of balancing a dangerous vampire with a vampire that was in love and wanted to change. I might also complain about what was written by the EW editors about Anne Rice’s Lestat. “Without Lestat, there would be no Twilight. Until Anne Rice introduced the character in her 1976 novel, Interview With the Vampire, the undead had all the sex appeal of Bela Lugosi in plastic fangs.” I completely disagree with that statement. There would be no Twilight or Leastat without Bram Stoker’s Dracula. I, and many others, found vampires extremely sexy and attractive long before we had even heard of Anne Rice. Don’t get me wrong she’s a wonderful writer and Lestat is a great character, but to say that she created the sexy vampire is just wrong.

Vampire Welcome Mat

Filexd under: Accessories,Outdoors — Tags: , — jane @ 11:56 am

Vampire Welcome MatYou must know by now that I love vampires. Of course, according to this article the rest of the female population does too. I found this Vampire Welcome Mat and it started me thinking. If vampires really existed would you really want this mat outside your door? Would this be accepted as the invitation that vampires are required to have to enter your home? I notice it says Tall, Dark & Handsome vampires welcome. Does that mean vampires that are short, blond and ugly can’t enter your home? Isn’t who is considered handsome and who is considered ugly different for each person or in the vampire world is that decided for us? So this must all mean that the vampire that does enter your home will be at least a pleasure to look at while he’s sucking you dry.

Red and Black Comforter

Filexd under: Bed & Bath — Tags: , , , — jane @ 1:17 pm

redblackcomforterIn reference to my earlier post today about vampires, I found this dramatic Red & Black Flocked Comforter Set. Now I know some of you are thinking “What’s the connection to vampires?” Well, my dimwitted friend, I’ll tell you.  Picture Bella rolling around on the bed with Edward. Or, Sookie with Bill. Or, Buffy with Angel or Spike. Lets say, [insert favorite vampire here] gets carried away while kissing her neck and takes a bite out of [insert favorite heroine here]. As the blood rolls down her neck wouldn’t it be nice for her to know that it would blend right into the beautiful new comforter and not ruin it? For just $79.63 any one of those heroins or even you could have that peace of mind and plus can you imagine how gorgeous it would be with some black sheets?

Buffy Being a huge fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and all things vampire in general, I always keep my eyes out for anything vampire related. I came across this great article in Newsweek about people’s obsession with vampires that you just have to check out.
