In honor of Valentine’s Day I set out to find a scary Valentines Day t-shirt. Not an easy task. For some reason people do not mix love with scary. Apparently people in love can’t have a sense of humor about it. Thank goodness in my house this is not the case. I did find a Zombies Need Love Too T-shirt which will fit the bill. There are quite a few different versions online, none of which got me all that excited, but this one isn’t too bad. When I first read the title I pictured a zombie chasing down a girl or something, but none of the ones I found were anything like that. Doesn’t make the sentiment any less valid, though. Everyone needs love, even zombies.
I may be scary minded, but I’m not crazy! I hate spiders! Hate, hate, hate them!! Do you get my point? If not, here’s some more. They are creepy, crawly, hairy, sneaky, gross little creatures. Now do you get it? This Hairy Scary Spider T-shirt brings out my worst fear. I actually turn into a screaming girly girl when I see one. Seriously, I don’t like to kill them. They are living creatures, but there are times when it is unavoidable. Like when I’m jumping up and down screaming in terror in the bathroom and I happen to land on one. This actually happened to me once, so that’s the reason for the disclaimer. Anyway, I try to catch them and lead them outside, but usually I make Scary Hubby do it. I live in fear of being too close to one. As a child I lived in Texas for a few years where they have lots and lots of them. The tarantulas there would jump up at you. I don’t know if all tarantulas do that, but they do in Texas. Nice state, but if you don’t like creepy crawlers stay away. That’s all I’m going to say.
This week’s T-Shirt Tuesday is the I Live Under Your Bed t-shirt. I don’t know about you, but what’s living under my bed is a lot scarier than that guy! It reminds me of Cat’s Eye which was a movie that had three scary stories and they were all linked together by this cat. In “The General”, which I think was the third story, there is a little girl played by Drew Barrymore that is being terrorized by this tiny horrible troll that lives in her room. Technically it does not live under her bed if I remember correctly, but it does spend a good amount of time under there. Anyway, he’s quite scary and the cat saves Drew Barrymore from him. It was scary when I was young and when I think about a monster under my bed that troll is the one I think of.
I know I have already made my dislike for clowns known, but here is a t-shirt that just scares the crap out of me. I know I love scary things, but clowns are just that one step too far into crazy town. I know some of you don’t mind a trip into downtown crazy town, so this 11 Scary Clowns T-Shirt was made just for you. Just promise me you won’t wear it if we ever meet, unless you want to me to run away from you.
Here’s a t-shirt that made me laugh as soon as I laid eyes on it. This is the Scary Smurf t-shirt. What is he? A mummy? A zombie? I’ll go for the zombie. Now, I was never a fan of the Smurfs. Even though blue is my favorite color the Smurfs were just too cutesy for me. This t-shirt puts the the edge in Smurf Village that it needed. Just imagine this Zombie Smurf going through Smurf Village eating all of the irritatingly sweet Smurfs. Now that’s a show I could get into.
So, I came across this Raven Lunatic t-shirt a while ago and kept putting off writing about it. Why, you ask? Well, for some reason I just don’t have anything to say about it. I really like it and love the reactions when I wear it, but for once I have nothing to write. I know, who’d a thought it was possible. Scary Hubby wonders sometimes if there is anything in this world that I don’t have a lot to say about. Well, here it is. For some reason it leaves me tongue tied and speechless. Obviously I could make some witty remark about Edgar Allan Poe, but that just makes me think of my cat Edgar and then that in turn makes me think of his sister Agatha and then I can’t get my brain to work. I thought it was the perfect one to post today since I don’t have anything to say about anything. My whole focus is on my sweet kitty Agatha at the moment who appears to have let us know that it is time. If you’ve been keeping up with my posts then you’ll know what that means. If you haven’t, well WTF?
In honor of my sweet little black kitty, Agatha, who is passing away from kidney failure I thought I’d hunt down a black cat t-shirt. I always loved the Edgar Allan Poe story The Black Cat, but I am also a huge fan of The Black Cat (included in the Tales of Terror) movie with Vincent Price. Of course what happens to the cat in that story I do not wish for my girl. I found this great t-shirt based on The Black Cat story on a British site. I can’t seem to find it on this side of the pond, but I really like it and I might just order it. For those of you who can’t make out what the t-shirt reads, it’s a quote from the book: “I had walled the monster up within the tomb”/The Black Cat/Edgar Allan Poe. Very creepy, I must say.
Here it is T-shirt Tuesday again. I have a great little t-shirt for you today. It’s called the Little Scary Doll and I think that’s the perfect name. She’s actually adorable, but very sinister looking. She has an Asian feel to her that I really like. Kind of scary anime which is different. Actually she looks like an anime vampire! It might look strange for a guy to wear, but us girls will find it totally adorable and creepy. The nice thing about this shirt is you can pick from a huge range of t-shirt colors to put her on. I love when they do that. I tend to want everything in black, but I think for her it might have to be a different color.
I came across this wonderfully creepy doll artist, photographer and storyteller the other day and had to share her with you. Her name is Christy Kane and you can see all of her amazing creepy dolls and read their stories on her website. Ms. Kane has a great sense of humor and writes these amazing little stories about each of her creations. She also wrote a book that tells the story of her dolls called Tales of the Sisters Kane. She even produced a short film on one of her dolls called Callalilly which can be seen below. Do yourself a favor a check out this eerily peaceful little film. Scary daughter found it to be pretty scary. Each of her creations are original and one-of-a-kind and can be purchased at etsy.com. She also sells t-shirts and jewelry featuring photographs of her dolls. If you have an odd way of looking at life the way I do you will fall in love with the talent of this woman like I did.
Nothing warms my heart more than the jolly old man in the red suit except maybe a zombie. Especially if he’s eating Santa’s brain. Don’t you just want to piss off some way too happy holiday shopper with this t-shirt? What about that crazy woman that grabbed the last Honey Glazed Ham at the grocery store? Or that crazy jerk that covered his house in lights and blacked out the whole neighborhood? Come on! Help me spread the Chistmas dread and wear your Sorry, Virginia – Zombies ate Santa’s brain t-shirt. You know you want to.
