I happened to come across some of the coolest and scariest shoes I have ever seen on a site called Iron Fist. They are actually a clothing company that has some great stuff, but their shoes are what really caught my eye. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like them. Even though One Hand in the Grave Boots (right) is a great name for them it’s not what I was thinking about when I saw them. They made me think of various movies where the hero/heroin is going up/down an open staircase and the bad guy reaches through and grabs their ankles. This was a major fear of mine growing up, so that could be why. Check out all of their funky zombie and skull shoes. They are just so cool and they’re vegan. These boots can be purchased for $55 from Amazon. Their other shoes run anywhere from $15 to $80, so they are very affordable.
I know a lot of guys that like to dress goth. They go all out and sometimes I’m impressed at what lengths they will go to. When I first saw these Edward’s Shoes online I thought they were for women and was shocked to see that they were men’s shoes. I thought I’d show them to my goth guy friends and see what they thought of them. I turned out to be more right than I thought I would be. None of the guys would wear them and thought they were too feminine. The consensus seemed to be that none of them would be caught dead in them even if they were just trying to look dead for Halloween. Most of them felt they looked rather dorky and I have to agree. Even if they were for women I certainly wouldn’t wear them. They kind of remind me of the white shoes that men wore in the 70s only this would have been the goth version. Why did they call them Edward’s Shoes anyway? I hope it wasn’t after Edward Cullen because you can be damn sure he wouldn’t be caught dead in them either.
You’ve seen The Wizard of Oz right? You know the lovely woman that Dorothy’s house landed on? I believe they refered to her as the Wicked Witch of the East. How she got that nickname we’ll never know. All the munchkins come out and sing “Ding Dong! The witch is dead”. How sad. She was just a witch going about her business when some obnoxious teenager dropped a house on her and now everyone is celebrating. Anyway, I’ve often wondered about her ruby shoes. Yes, they were very sparkly, but rather plain. If she was supposed to be so scary, why weren’t her shoes more creepy? Let’s face it, shoes make a statement. They finish off an outfit and these just didn’t do it. Now these Witchy Shoes would have looked great and then I would understand why everyone wanted them so badly. I know I do, though I can’t decide whether I like the black or the red. For 25.99 who cares, I’ll buy both and wear them with those great stockings she had on.
