We all love Christmas right? And who doesn’t like hearing the Night Before Christmas? I’ve always thought it was a little sappy, so last year I decided to rewrite it. Click here to see Scary Jane’s take on that old classic.
Are you like me and have money to throw away? No? Well, I don’t actually either. I’d like to though. If I did I would probably buy this Christmas decoration. It’s called Ghost Bust Fright Before Christmas and is sold by Hauntedprops.com for… drumroll please… $1,499.00! Basically it is a life-size bust that comes with a small projector and a DVD. The DVD is played on a DVD player (not provided) and projected onto the bust to make it look like it’s actually moving. You can also purchase something called a Control Freak Media Monster. This will allow it to be set off by a mat or motion sensor. It also includes the DVD player and costs another $259.77. Not sure why the 77 cents is necessary. If you still don’t feel that you’ve spent enough money you can buy a Blaster that blows a burst of air at you as you walk by for $140.00. It does look pretty cool, but I don’t see myself spending that much money on a Christmas prop. Check out the video, maybe you’ll find that it’s worth it.
Sunday seems to have become scary/weird/creepy/yucky picture day. I didn’t plan it, but I never feel like writing much on Sundays for some reason. People are always sending me weird pictures that they have found on the internet and it just seems like the perfect day to post them. Plus today I am knee deep in a Hitchcock marathon on TV. With that in mind here’s today’s contribution. Not really sure what to say about it or where it even comes from for that mattter, but here it is anyway. I find it creepy and cool at the same time. One of the scariest movies ever made was The Birds. At least it is for me. That movie just makes me shiver. Whenever I see it I spend weeks getting creeped out every time I see a bird and God forbid I should see more than one. That will send me running into the nearest building. Hitchcock was a brilliant director who could make something so sweet and innocent into the most terrifying thing ever. This Bird Pillow reminded me of The Birds the second I saw it. I know I could never have this in my house. Way too scary! I’d never go near a bird and I actually love birds. This pillow is even worse than just a pillow with a bird on it. The birds on this pillow look like they are swarming and coming in for the kill. Way too creepy for me. I draw the line at the bird pillow.
Or not. These videos have been going around the internet in different forms for quite a while now. Someone sent this to me yesterday and I do hope they sent it because it was funny and not because they were scared by it. I get really irritated by these videos, but for some reason this one made me laugh and I really needed a laugh. I thought I would share it with you. Either it will scare you which obviously means you’re stupid or it’ll make you laugh which means we are of like minds. Either way be sure to watch the whole thing.
Are you having a party on Christmas Eve? If you are then you need a Christmas album that will really set the mood. A Scary Little Christmas CD would even work well for a last minute stocking stuffer. When Grandma opens this up she’ll want to play it right away. You know how the older generation love their holiday classics. Unfortunately it might end up putting more of a chill in the air on an already cold day. Why wouldn’t you want to listen to a lovely Christmas album? Especially if it’s one that has a nice gothic twist. With songs like Frosty Gets a Tan, Wreck the Halls and Scare-ol of the Bells you know it will add that perfect scaryness to your holiday.
I know it’s T-Shirt Tuesday, but considering that it’s the holiday season I’m going to show you something different. Every year the women in my family pull out their holiday sweaters for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Every year I get more and more frightened. I live in absolute terror that Scary daughter will one day pick up on this tradition and declare she wants one. So far so good, but she’s only seven and Grandmas have a way of getting what they want. I have obviously resisted this horrible tradition and am constantly told that I have no holiday spirit. In my world wearing a sweater with a jumbo rudolph that has a red cottonball for a nose on it means you are insane, not that you have holiday spirit. This year I thought I’d pin a picture of some ugly sweater to my shirt and maybe that would make them happy. Here is the Christmas Sweater I decided on. You can actually buy this for the low cost of $69.00. It’s just not Christmas without sequins, fur and jewels on your clothing.
