Bitten Choker

Filexd under: Fashion,Jewelry — Tags: , , , , , — jane @ 6:45 pm

Bitten ChokerI am a huge fan of chokers. Necklaces are nice, but there’s something about a choker especially a velvet choker that I just love. I am forever in search of the perfect vampire bite choker. In other words a choker that looks like a vampire took a bite out of your neck. I don’t know how or why I got so obsessed with this. Maybe it’s because there’s so many versions available out there, but none of them quite do it for me. It’s not like I have some secret desire to be bitten by a vampire or even become one. If they were real I would have absolutely no desire to be one. I once had a dream when I was much younger that I was just turned into a vampire. I woke up in a cold sweat and it took a few minutes for me to realize it wasn’t true. Up until that point I was just horrified at even the thought. Anyway, there I go rambling on again. I found this really cool Bitten Choker that I really like. Probably the coolest I have seen. Unfortunately I can only seem to find it in a UK store. I swear! They have the best stuff over there. It’s just not fair.

Eyeball Locket

Blue Eye of Protection Poison RingEyeball Locket

I got the link to this Etsy website called Blue Bayer Designs from a reader. All I can say is wow. This is amazing stuff that this guy in New York is creating. His name is actually Blue Bayer and he is a self taught artist. He creates great SteamPunk and Victorian jewelry using anything from watch parts, to bat skulls, to dolls eyes and just found items. I am particularly partial to his eyeball jewelry like the Eyeball Locket and the Blue Eye of Protection Poison Ring. Very unique. He makes all of his items to order, so you can make such requests as what color eye or type of metal he uses. His prices are very reasonable considering how much work and skill goes into making each one. I have a birthday coming up in March if anyone (are you reading Scary Hubby?) is trying to figure out what to get me.

Slit Throat Choker

Filexd under: Art,Arts/Crafts,Fashion,Jewelry — Tags: , , , , , , , , — jane @ 2:58 pm

Slit Throat ChokerOh, how I appreciate a macabre sense of humor. So many people out there are so uptight. In the world we live in today you really have to stop once in awhile and smell the dead roses or just get a good laugh. I’m sure I will be bombarded again with emails after people read this post, so let me just say now I am not a serial killer or psychotic. I enjoy life as much as I can and have a great sense of humor considering the things that are going on around us. All that being said, I found this great Slit Throat Choker on Etsy! The artist’s name is Tiana Rutledge and she creates this choker and many other things including Slit Wrist bracelets and Blood Drop earrings. She also makes this fantastic Black Rose ring. I just love her stuff. They are all hand sculpted from flexible polymer clay and very reasonably priced. You can get the entire Bloody Mess set for just $28. Great for Halloween obviously, but I plan on wearing mine year round. I can’t wait until I can wear it to pick up my daughter from school. Those uptight private school moms won’t know what hit them. Shocking them always makes my day.

Spiderweb Choker

Filexd under: Apparel,Jewelry — Tags: , , , , , , — jane @ 5:02 pm

Spiderweb ChokerThe victorians really knew how to design things. They really had a taste for the gothic. I have often thought that I was born during the wrong time, but then I think of not having movies/TV, indoor plumbing and many other every day conveniences and I rethink that. Anyway, I really like the style from that period. I don’t like plain things. I like things with character like little hidden faces carved into the arm of a chair. Those little things make me happy just like this Spiderweb necklace and earrings make me happy. Can’t you just picture yourself (or the woman in your life) in a long black velvet dress with this beautiful choker around her neck? Pale pasty white skin is a must to pull it off of course.

Skull USB Drive

Filexd under: Jewelry,Office,Storage — Tags: , , , , , — jane @ 5:41 pm

I’m not usually the tech geek in the family. I leave that stuff to Scary Hubby. Sometimes though I do come across things that melt our two loves together. This is a Skull USB Drive Necklace. This little guy is great. It’s a USB Flash Drive that holds 2GB of storage and a necklace! Two for the price of one. My big complaint about Flash Drives in general is that I am always losing them. They are so tiny. This one can just go around my neck and it looks just like a regular skull necklace. The little plug in thingy slides out, so there is no cover to lose, which is always a problem too. A lot of these cool little Flash Drives can be pretty pricey, but this one sells for only $22. Obviously at that price it’s not made out of platinum.  It may not be the nicest skull necklace you’ve ever owned, but it is cute and a great idea.

Blood Vial Necklace

Filexd under: Jewelry — Tags: , , — jane @ 3:13 pm

Blood Vial NecklaceNext time you’re taking a bite out of someone’s neck you might want to think about saving some of that blood. This Blood Vial Necklace could save you some trouble later. Say you’re going about your vampire business and just not finding anyone attractive to bite into. You’re starting to get a little peckish. Wouldn’t it be nice to know that you have a little blood around your neck to hold off the hunger until you do find someone worth drinking?

You can also use this necklace to profess your love to a significant other. Remember when Billy Bob and Big Lips Magoo were married for a brief time and famously exchanged blood vials? Well, now you can be like them and do the same thing. I can’t say I want to be anything like them and have no desire to swap blood with my husband, but to each their own. It even comes in a little coffin shaped gift box. How cute is that?
