Skull Ceramic Vase

I always take a look around the various stores for their Halloween decor this time of the year. Usually it’s your basic plastic and fake type stuff. In other words good for Halloween, but not for year round. Once in a while I do get a surprise like this Skull Ceramic Vase. These are actually really nice and simple and can easily be displayed year round. When you live in a house like mine it can be hard to find nice things to display, so I am absolutely thrilled with this find. Get yours here.

Skull and Daisy Dress

This is one of those dresses that makes you stop and look at again. You glance at it and it’s just a cute flower print dress, nothing special, and then you think you catch something thats a little off. You look again, closely this time, and mixed in with the little flowers are tiny skulls. I absolutely love that. You could probably even get away with wearing it to church, if that’s your thing. I love things like this. Just a little something unexpected. You can find it here.

Black Roses

Did you just go through a bad breakup? One of those horrific and heart wrenching ones where you just wish the person was dead? Why not send them black roses? They’ll get the hint about how you feel really fast. Of course Halloween is coming as well. You could always order some for yourself or to bring to someone’s house. My mom always said it was impolite to arrive without a hostess gift. Well, there ya go. Bring them black roses. Who wouldn’t want that? I know I’d love it. Buy and have them delivered to someone special here.

Snake Wreath

I happen to live in a neighborhood where everyone is very uptight, but think they’re cool. Those are the worst kind. My family stands out, needless to say, and I have no problem with that. At least we have a sense of humor and don’t call the police every time an African American chooses to walk down our street. Pretty much every house has some cutesy wreath on the door. You know the ones I’m talking about. There is the dried flower ones, plastic flower ones, the weird ones made out of different colored balls, the branch ones etc. I personally hate them and refuse to ever put one on my door. It’s so suburban and just drives me crazy. I have a black feather one that I put on my door once, but it was almost too pretty so I took it down. Today I ordered one that I might actually put on my door with pride. This Snake Wreath with the great Medusa vibe is meant as a Halloween decoration. I hope at $29 that it actually looks good, but we’ll see. I’ll probably remove the sound/vibrating box as I want this as a year round decoration. I can’t wait for everyone to see it. I just love to piss off my neighbors. Is that wrong?

Skull Teapot

Do you remember those dishes your grandmother always pulled out at the holidays? You know the ones. They were always white or cream in color and covered in flowers. I always remember doing the dishes and having to hand wash them because they weren’t dishwasher safe. Ugh. Why did they invent dishwashers if you can’t put all your dishes in them? Why do they make dishes now that are not dishwasher safe? Makes no sense. I can understand the dishes made before the invention of the dishwasher, but now there is just no excuse. Anyway, I now have those dishes and I am turning into my grandmother. Every Christmas and Easter they come out and I kind of feel sorry for Scary Daughter because now she gets to help me hand wash them. Mine are actually quite beautiful and are white with blue flowers. Today I came across this Skull Teapot that I desperately want. It was designed by Trevor Jackson, a Seattle based artist, and can be had for a paltry $1200. It would match my dishes very nicely and I’m sure it needs to be hand washed at that price. It may cause a stir when the extended Scary Family see it which is always fun. My Grandmother may just turn over in her grave, but that’s okay since she’s probably sick of lying on her back by now anyway.
