It’s butt-ass cold here and from what I can tell from the news it seems it’s cold most places in the US right now. I don’t like the heat to be on very high and I really like bundling up during the winter anyway. In my office the desk sits right in front of two huge windows, so it can get especially cold there. I love to wear hats, funky gloves and arm warmers, but this year I seem to need more. So, I started looking around on the internet for something to keep me warm on those freaky cold days. Do you get cold, too? If and when you do, do you like to snuggle up to a skeleton? Probably not. No matter how much I love skeletons and skulls I can’t see myself doing that. Plus, how warm could that be? How about one of those stupid snuggie things? I have always thought they looked completely ridiculous, but what if you made it a black one and covered it in skulls? Hell yeah, I would and you probably would too. This Pirate Skull Slanket costs $32.99 which isn’t cheap, but it’s totally worth it for the coolness factor and the warmth one too.

I happened to come across some of the coolest and scariest shoes I have ever seen on a site called Iron Fist. They are actually a clothing company that has some great stuff, but their shoes are what really caught my eye. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like them. Even though One Hand in the Grave Boots (right) is a great name for them it’s not what I was thinking about when I saw them. They made me think of various movies where the hero/heroin is going up/down an open staircase and the bad guy reaches through and grabs their ankles. This was a major fear of mine growing up, so that could be why. Check out all of their funky zombie and skull shoes. They are just so cool and they’re vegan. These boots can be purchased for $55 from Amazon. Their other shoes run anywhere from $15 to $80, so they are very affordable.
We all know what it’s like this time of year. Less than two weeks until Christmas and we are all running around like chickens with our heads cut off. I love that saying. It’s so stupid, but pretty much exactly what we all look like. You know those Mother’s that are standing in line outside of Target first thing Saturday morning. That wild look in their eyes and the foam oozing from their mouths. I’m terrified of them. They will push you down and stomp on your face just to get the latest gadget, doll or video game on sale before it’s out of stock. I hate shopping this time of year and avoid it at all costs. I do almost all of my shopping online. I say almost just because my Father insists on wishing for things that can’t possibly be found online. I’ve been on a wild search this year for a certain type of moccasins that don’t seem to exist. In the meantime I thought I’d pick up some of the smaller gifts for him online. For some reason I am a big fan of cliche gifts. I was searching around online and found the perfect cliche tie. He doesn’t usually appreciate my humor, but I always get him at least one funny gift and I think this Scary Neck Tie is the perfect thing. You can find it here. Too bad the guy doesn’t have a santa hat on. Then it would be perfect.

I remember when I was a little kid, every year I got a fancy new dress and a Christmas t-shirt that I could wear to school. I was not a frilly kind of girl, so I was not particularly thrilled to wear a ruffly dress. Of course, now that I have my own daughter what do I do? I make her wear a ruffly dress every Christmas. She hates them, just like I did, and I swore I would never do that. Amazing what happens when you grow up. I know now that I was forced into those dresses for my grandparent’s pleasure and that’s why I do it too. Anyway, back to what I was talking about. Just slap me when I go off topic. I wish that they made t-shirts like this Skull Candy Cane one when I was a kid. I was rather odd in general and would have loved this shirt back then. Well, now I can buy whatever I want to wear and I believe I will be choosing this one as my Christmas shirt this year. Now I just have to find my Christmas dress. Scary Daughter will be wearing the obligatory red poofy dress and I will be wearing something a la Morticia.

I love Halloween parties. Everything about them. From the planning to the decorating to the cooking. Unfortunately there is one thing that I don’t enjoy about the average Halloween party and that’s the costumes. Before you judge me and bite my head off in a fit of rage, let me explain.I have said it before and I will say it again. I don’t like funny costumes. Halloween is about scary stuff, not funny stuff. Save the jokes for April Fool’s Day. I’ve tried many times to tell people only to wear scary costumes and you’d think with my friends that would be easy. Unfortunately, no. It’s not even the actual costumes that bug me, it’s the randomness of it. I have always wanted a party like the one in the first Addams Family movie or even just a good scary theme would make me happy. Victorian dead people, classic horror movie characters, zombies or even just the weirdest scary thing that you could come up with. Victorian dead people is probably my favorite though and these Casket Cuff links would be perfect. Can’t you just picture a guy in a rotted out tuxedo with tails, a spider infested top hat, some makeup and these fantastic Casket Cuff Links? Actually I think I’ve seen some movie at some time where a guy dresses up like that for a Halloween party, but I can’t remember what it was. Oh well, he sounds like my dream date.

I was directed, by a reader, to this great t-shirt company called Chop Shop. They have some very fun and original designs, but the undeadWe is my favorite. Here’s a blurb from the page about it.
“We just put the final nail in the coffin of our Horror/Fantasy collection with our newest offering undeadWe; it packs in 51 zombies, ghosts, mummies, spirits and other boo-tiful members of the living dead. References range from television, film, video games, popular music, animation, literature, legend and another one from the breakfast table.”
If you want to see if you can figure out what each one is, check out their higher resolution version here. Don’t scroll down on the page or you’ll see the answers. I had so much fun trying to figure them all out. Unfortunately there were some I could not. So ladies if you don’t want everyone staring at your chest for long periods of time then don’t wear this shirt. If you do, then go ahead and stick those babies out. Just remember it may not be your assets the guys are looking at.

I get links from you guys all the time and it’s great. Sometimes it takes me awhile to check them all out and for that I’m sorry. Keep sending them though because not all of them are worth writing about. The subject of today’s blog post was sent to me back in February! Ack! Anyway, this is about tights. Scary tights for that matter. I remember when they just came in solid colors. I’m not a huge fan of tights and leggings in general. Reminds me too much of the 80s. You remember the black stir-up pants that women would wear with a huge sweater and scrunchy socks to match? Ew! I see tights now and that’s all I can think of. Hopefully that ridiculous style will not be brought back anytime soon. I have to admit that these tights are way cool, though I just can’t get myself to ever think about wearing them. These tights are called Blood Bath and are designed by James Lillis for his company Black Milk. Mr. Lillis just started the company a little over a year ago and it has now grown into one of the most popular tight brands available. He also runs a blog called Too Many tights where you can keep up with news and products. He will be releasing a new line of printed leggings shortly, so the pair shown and seven others on his site will be discontinued in the next week. If any of them catch your eye you’d better order them or they will be gone forever. Of course who knows what he has in store for the new line. Might be worth the wait.
*Thanks Beautiful Kind for the link!

I, like many women, love hats. I obsessively buy them thinking I will look fabulous in them and then often times don’t have a place to wear them. The fancier the better. Let’s face it though. How many places can you wear an elaborate hat to? I have now found this fantastically creepy Spider Hat that I just have to buy. Unfortunately it’s $145, so it will take a little convincing to get Scary Hubby to agree that I need it. Luckily he loves when I wear a hat, so it shouldn’t be too hard. Plus, all of my hats look really good displayed in our house. So if I never find a day to wear it besides Halloween I can say it’s just part of the house decor.
As I have stated before I am not as crazy about the Twilight series as everyone else seems to be. I mean the books were decent and so far the movies have been fun. I am just not the biggest fan of some of the changes that Stephenie Meyer made to vampire lore. Anyway, I did come across this Vampire Instructions T-Shirt that made me giggle a little and thought I’d pass it on. I wish it wasn’t so Twilight-ish and more general, but it’s still funny. I would assume this t-shirt is meant for the non-vampire person in the relationship (Bella, Buffy, Sookie et al). Obviously some of them need a little more instruction for their newly acquired vampire than others. Maybe if the Cullens had given Bella this t-shirt for her birthday instead she wouldn’t have cut her finger and started that whole mess.
Yay! It’s T-Shirt Tuesday again. I know you’re probably not as excited as I am, but you could at least try to be. Anywho the t-shirt I found this time is hilarious. At least it made me laugh. This would be the Eternal Exercise T-Shirt. This brings to my mind all of those zombie movies and something that pisses me off. I think there needs to be some agreement in zombie movies. In some of them the zombies run after their victims and others they just slowly stumble along, but always seem to get there. The latter seems the more realistic to me. I’m all for a little creativity, but let’s agree on one thing: zombies are not smart. All they want is to feed, so they head towards the food (people). I don’t think they would be smart enough to run after their food. They would stumble towards it. Some movies have even gone as far as to make their zombies appear smart. Zombies are dead people. Period. Putting all of that aside this t-shirt just makes me laugh. I’m not sure why you would want to put a zombie on a treadmill, but it sure makes for a funny picture. What would be even funnier though is if you hung a brain in front of him. Give him the incentive to continue on the treadmill, unlike I do.
