While poking around in one of the cute little shops that I frequent I found this creepy little Pierced Metal Lantern. Well, okay so it wasn’t a quaint little shop with one of a kind items. It was Cost Plus World Market. But they have great stuff even if it is a national chain. Those one of a kind items tend to be expensive anyway. If you don’t have one of these stores in your city you are completely missing out. Luckily they do sell online. This lantern actually reminds me of the thurible thing that priests swing around in church carrying incense. It just has a creepyness to it that I like. I’m picturing it in a corner against very darkly painted walls like navy blue, purple or even a deep red. Come to think of it I think it would look really good in the corner of my guest bath where the walls are painted a deep blue. The light patterns would be fantastic. I have a thing for light patterns because they create spooky images and shadows. It’s all about ambiance people and this will give it to you.

I have two similar items that came from “Home “Interior” i think. Their flat black and kinda Gothic looking and hold a candle voltage cup.

It looks very similar to one I found at the dump. The glass was missing from it so I’ve turned it into a birdfeeder.

Can you please tell me how long ago you found this awesome lamp at Cost Plus?

It was late last summer. It doesn’t look like they carry it anymore. Look around though, those types of lanterns are very popular right now especially with summer coming.
