Bloody Hands Water Bottle

Filexd under: Bar, kitchen — Tags: , , , , , , — jane @ 5:49 pm

Bloody Water BottleAs usual a trip over to the Hot Topic website rewards me with a cool new find. They have a Bloody Hands Water Bottle that is just too cool. Got me thinking though. Why bother buying one for $7.99 when you can make your own? How many of us have been left with bloody hands after a night of fun? Why not find one of your own water bottles you probably have lying around and wipe those bloody hands on it. Let it dry and ta da! You have your very own Bloody Water Bottle personalized just for you. Every time you take a sip you’ll be reminded of that fun and crazy night. If you find yourself with bloody hands often, why not make some for your family and friends for Christmas? Just don’t bother making me one because I have plenty of my own.

Bombarock

Skull ChairBat ApronI have found a new artist/designer that I am absolutely in love with. Her name is Georgina Brett Chinnery and the name of her company is Bombarock. Of course, as usual, the company is based in the UK where I am convinced all of the people with good taste or at least scary taste live. Ms. Chinnery started the company in 2006 as an upholstery and design business. Although now she mainly works in leather pieces she has some amazing fabric pieces that are just to die for. Bombarock produces anything from chairs to ironing board covers to aprons. Hard to narrow down what is my favorite, but the Bat Apron and the Skull Chair rank pretty high up there. I just love a designer that has some real style and originality.

Creepy Mug?

Filexd under: Food & Candy, kitchen — Tags: , , , , , , , — jane @ 6:26 pm

Creepy Crawly mugSo, I’m upset today. I’m also the biggest klutz ever. I went to get my coffee as usual this morning and as I was getting my favorite mug out it just slipped from my hands and broke. I swear it was like it was greased up or something. It was a really cool mug shaped like a skull. I’ve been looking to replace it today, but have not seen the same one yet. I’ve had it for many years, so they may not make it anymore. There are other skull shaped mugs, but not as neat as mine was. Even though this isn’t skull shaped I found a really creepy mug online that I fell in love with (at right), but it does not seem to be available anymore. Anyone know where I can get one of these? Anyone seen any creepy mugs online that you can point me to? I can’t just drink out of my plain black mugs every day. This mug fit me, it was my muse and I miss it.

Skull Cake

Filexd under: Food & Candy, kitchen — Tags: , , , — jane @ 7:30 pm

Skull CakeI’ve seen many skull cakes over the years, but this one really takes the cake. Ha Ha! Anyway, it is actually the best one I’ve seen. Unfortunately, with this particular cake no one seems to know where it came from. It appears on many websites and a reader actually sent this one to me, but I can’t find anything out about it. I would love to know more. I particularly want to know if that is chocolate cake or chocolate ice cream inside. And what makes the shell? It just looks delicious.

*Thanks Lisa for the picture, but not the craving.

Scary Wedding

Filexd under: Art, Food & Candy, Misc., TV/Movies, Uncategorized, kitchen — Tags: , , , — jane @ 1:37 am

Scary Wedding CakeA reader sent this picture in to me. She said she was getting married and they were planning on doing a scary themed wedding. This is the cake design that they found online and are having copied by their bakery. I don’t know where this picture is from so I can’t give credit to anyone. I absolutely love this cake. I’ve seen scary themed wedding cakes before. A lot of people have been doing the whole Nightmare Before Christmas or Corpse Bride, but I applaud these two for going just plain scary and not relying on pre-made props. I love these movies as much as the next guy, but from what I’ve seen it’s pretty easy to throw that kind of wedding. From her description they are doing it all themselves and I can totally get behind that! I almost wish Scary Hubby and I could do it again, so we could have this cake too.

*Thanks Dubus for the pic and yes I think it’s great…obviously.

Toxic Toons Shot Glasses

Filexd under: Bar, kitchen — Tags: , , , , , , — jane @ 8:20 pm

toxic toons shots glassesToxic Tunes Shot Glasses 2It’s finally Friday, it’s been a really long week and I need a drink or even a shot of something. Now if only I had some super cool glasses to drink it out of. Namely these Toxic Toons Shot Glasses. Unfortunately I do not own these glasses yet. My birthday is coming up guys. Come on you know you want to help Scary Jane have a really good birthday this year, right? If you really loved me you would have bought them for me already. I guess I’ll have to shell out the $49.99 my self. I just wish I’d thought of it a little earlier because now I will have to have my drink out of my plain old regular shot glasses. Mine aren’t etched with some creepy looking skull or monster on them like these. Come on guys, help a girl out. Don’t let another Friday go by where Scary Jane has to have a drink out of some plain old shot glass.

Hand Soap: Take 2

Filexd under: Art, Bed & Bath, kitchen — Tags: , , — jane @ 6:35 pm

Handy SoapA few months ago I blogged about some Baby Hand Soap that was really quite creepy. You’d think that would be the end of it, but happily no. I found another deliciously creepy Hand Soap, but this time it’s a grown-up hand and hangs on the wall of your shower. It doesn’t exist yet, but we can hope. It was designed during a research project at Berlin University of the Arts with a German company called Design Reaktor Berlin. This is a company that helps small businesses organize production, marketing and get distribution for their products. I think this would be oh so cool in my shower, but placement would be of the utmost importance. Looking at the picture it appears to be rather low on the wall. Wouldn’t this cause embarrassing accidents while bending over to clean your lower extremities? Also, here’s something to think about. After you’ve used it for a while it’s not exactly going to look like a hand anymore. It will eventually become a little soap stump. How attractive would that be? Of course you’re accidents wouldn’t be as ticklish anymore. Don’t know if you consider that a good thing or not.

Skull Utensils

Filexd under: Accessories, Food & Candy, kitchen — Tags: , , , — jane @ 5:20 pm

Skull Cutlery linkMake your Christmas a Skull Christmas with these Skull Utensils. Actually that would be a pretty expensive set to buy considering it’s $25 for one knife, one fork and one spoon! Plus they are just made of plastic! Who would buy that? They are totally cool and would look awesome on my table tomorrow, but not at that price. They also come in orange and white. Not sure why you would want them in orange. Well, I guess for Halloween. Anyway they are on sale for this price, so move quickly or someone might actually pony up the money for these.

Bat Lighting

Filexd under: Accessories, Decor, Lighting, kitchen — Tags: , , — jane @ 1:00 pm

Bat Pendant LightIn our new house I am not so happy with the lighting. We have slowly been replacing the lights as we find more funky and interesting ones. I have a large island in my kitchen where two very plain pendant lights hang over it. As I was looking around online I found the most perfect lighting ever! It is called a Sunset Pendant, though I have no idea why. Why not call it a Bat Pendant? I mean it does feature a very large bat on it! No reason to be logical I guess. You certainly wouldn’t want it to be easily found by the bat loving public such as myself would you? Anyway, they are so deliciously creepy that I went to click on ordering a pair and got the shock of my life! These amazingly cool light fixtures cost a whopping $1898.00 each! What the hell are they made of? I still covet them though. I wonder if I could talk Scary Hubby into spending that much. Probably not, but maybe just one for our entryway would do? Well, I’m off to grovel and beg…

Skull Swizzle Sticks

Filexd under: Bar, kitchen — Tags: , , , , — jane @ 12:21 pm

Skull Swizzle SticksBeing a lover of all things alcohol I am always on the lookout for scary bar accessories to add to my collection. Here are some fantastic skull swizzle sticks that will fit right in. They were apparently released only for the Halloween season, but you can still buy them. This always pisses me off! Don’t they realize how many people out there love this kind of stuff? And not just at Halloween? Skulls are so popular now. You can buy practically anything with a skull on it at Kmart or Target nowadays. Not that I’m particularly thrilled about that, but that’s another story. It just always makes me mad when I find some cool thing on the internet and I can’t buy it because it’s not Halloween anymore. I spend so much money during Halloween on every day stuff for my house. When will they learn? Anyway, if you like these you might want to snap them up because it’s only while their supply lasts.
