How fun is this? Ouija Board placemats! So every time you sit down to a meal you can talk to the spirit world and ask important questions like: Will I like this meal? Will I get heartburn that wakes me up in the middle of the night? Will I get gassy that night and wake up my partner with horrible fumes while I slumber in unknowing bliss? All very important questions that can be answered before you take your first bite. How could this not be necessary? Plus they are extremely cute. Buy yours here.

This is a great last minute idea to decorate your house for Halloween. Everybody loves a clementine. Get a bunch of clementines, add a black sharpie and a little imagination and they become mini jack-o-lanterns.

Broken Glass Cupcakes

Here’s a popular dessert idea that I have used at my party quite a few times over the years. Make some red velvet cupcakes with white cream cheese frosting. Now make a batch of clear sugar glass. If you don’t know how to do that it’s really quite easy. Find a recipe here. After that’s all done break the glass into pieces. I usually do this by dropping the sheet of glass while it’s still in the baking pan onto the floor. It will break into a bunch of glass like shards. Take the broken pieces and randomly stick them into the cupcakes then sprinkle edible blood (see recipe below) over the glass and cupcakes. They turn out yummy and look awesome.

1 tbsp golden syrup
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp red food coloring
Few drops blue food coloring

If the mixture is too thin stir in a teaspoon of corn starch, whisking rapidly to thin out any lumps or you can leave it to settle for a while and skim the lumps off the top. Obviously you can up the recipe if you are making lots of cupcakes, but this will get you started.

Halloween Spirits

Are you looking for a way to make your bar look a little more scary for your Halloween party? Instead of sticking those silly scary labels to any old bottle just do what I do and go wander the aisles of your local big liquor store. If you don’t know this already you’d be amazed at the amount of scary themed liquors available out there especially this time of year. Everything from wine to tequila to vodka has scary themed brands available. a lot of them in fun bottles too. My favorite is the Vampyre Red Vodka. It just makes every vodka drink extra spooky. Find it here.

I absolutely love this cookie/treat jar. I’ve looked for a good one for a long time, but stuff like this is only available during Halloween. Am I the only person that wants this stuff available all the time? ┬áThis will proudly be taking up space on my counter year round. Buy yours before they disappear for the next year here.

I must have missed this one on my first pass through of Pottery Barn’s Halloween stuff. Very awesome skeleton bowl stand. I guess it’s part of the collection with the salt and pepper shaker I blogged about here. Anyway, I really like this more as an ice bucjket than anything else. Buy yours here.
