I get links from you guys all the time and it’s great. Sometimes it takes me awhile to check them all out and for that I’m sorry. Keep sending them though because not all of them are worth writing about. The subject of today’s blog post was sent to me back in February! Ack! Anyway, this is about tights. Scary tights for that matter. I remember when they just came in solid colors. I’m not a huge fan of tights and leggings in general. Reminds me too much of the 80s. You remember the black stir-up pants that women would wear with a huge sweater and scrunchy socks to match? Ew! I see tights now and that’s all I can think of. Hopefully that ridiculous style will not be brought back anytime soon. I have to admit that these tights are way cool, though I just can’t get myself to ever think about wearing them. These tights are called Blood Bath and are designed by James Lillis for his company Black Milk. Mr. Lillis just started the company a little over a year ago and it has now grown into one of the most popular tight brands available. He also runs a blog called Too Many tights where you can keep up with news and products. He will be releasing a new line of printed leggings shortly, so the pair shown and seven others on his site will be discontinued in the next week. If any of them catch your eye you’d better order them or they will be gone forever. Of course who knows what he has in store for the new line. Might be worth the wait.
*Thanks Beautiful Kind for the link!

I, like many women, love hats. I obsessively buy them thinking I will look fabulous in them and then often times don’t have a place to wear them. The fancier the better. Let’s face it though. How many places can you wear an elaborate hat to? I have now found this fantastically creepy Spider Hat that I just have to buy. Unfortunately it’s $145, so it will take a little convincing to get Scary Hubby to agree that I need it. Luckily he loves when I wear a hat, so it shouldn’t be too hard. Plus, all of my hats look really good displayed in our house. So if I never find a day to wear it besides Halloween I can say it’s just part of the house decor.
I know a lot of guys that like to dress goth. They go all out and sometimes I’m impressed at what lengths they will go to. When I first saw these Edward’s Shoes online I thought they were for women and was shocked to see that they were men’s shoes. I thought I’d show them to my goth guy friends and see what they thought of them. I turned out to be more right than I thought I would be. None of the guys would wear them and thought they were too feminine. The consensus seemed to be that none of them would be caught dead in them even if they were just trying to look dead for Halloween. Most of them felt they looked rather dorky and I have to agree. Even if they were for women I certainly wouldn’t wear them. They kind of remind me of the white shoes that men wore in the 70s only this would have been the goth version. Why did they call them Edward’s Shoes anyway? I hope it wasn’t after Edward Cullen because you can be damn sure he wouldn’t be caught dead in them either.
For your creepy enjoyment (or not) I present you with this yucky spider tattoo. It looks a little fake to me. It’s just a little too perfect. I can’t seem to find the origin of this picture, so I just have to assume that it’s real. Either way… ICK!!
Yay! It’s T-Shirt Tuesday again. I know you’re probably not as excited as I am, but you could at least try to be. Anywho the t-shirt I found this time is hilarious. At least it made me laugh. This would be the Eternal Exercise T-Shirt. This brings to my mind all of those zombie movies and something that pisses me off. I think there needs to be some agreement in zombie movies. In some of them the zombies run after their victims and others they just slowly stumble along, but always seem to get there. The latter seems the more realistic to me. I’m all for a little creativity, but let’s agree on one thing: zombies are not smart. All they want is to feed, so they head towards the food (people). I don’t think they would be smart enough to run after their food. They would stumble towards it. Some movies have even gone as far as to make their zombies appear smart. Zombies are dead people. Period. Putting all of that aside this t-shirt just makes me laugh. I’m not sure why you would want to put a zombie on a treadmill, but it sure makes for a funny picture. What would be even funnier though is if you hung a brain in front of him. Give him the incentive to continue on the treadmill, unlike I do.
I am a huge fan of chokers. Necklaces are nice, but there’s something about a choker especially a velvet choker that I just love. I am forever in search of the perfect vampire bite choker. In other words a choker that looks like a vampire took a bite out of your neck. I don’t know how or why I got so obsessed with this. Maybe it’s because there’s so many versions available out there, but none of them quite do it for me. It’s not like I have some secret desire to be bitten by a vampire or even become one. If they were real I would have absolutely no desire to be one. I once had a dream when I was much younger that I was just turned into a vampire. I woke up in a cold sweat and it took a few minutes for me to realize it wasn’t true. Up until that point I was just horrified at even the thought. Anyway, there I go rambling on again. I found this really cool Bitten Choker that I really like. Probably the coolest I have seen. Unfortunately I can only seem to find it in a UK store. I swear! They have the best stuff over there. It’s just not fair.

I got the link to this Etsy website called Blue Bayer Designs from a reader. All I can say is wow. This is amazing stuff that this guy in New York is creating. His name is actually Blue Bayer and he is a self taught artist. He creates great SteamPunk and Victorian jewelry using anything from watch parts, to bat skulls, to dolls eyes and just found items. I am particularly partial to his eyeball jewelry like the Eyeball Locket and the Blue Eye of Protection Poison Ring. Very unique. He makes all of his items to order, so you can make such requests as what color eye or type of metal he uses. His prices are very reasonable considering how much work and skill goes into making each one. I have a birthday coming up in March if anyone (are you reading Scary Hubby?) is trying to figure out what to get me.

Oh, how I appreciate a macabre sense of humor. So many people out there are so uptight. In the world we live in today you really have to stop once in awhile and smell the dead roses or just get a good laugh. I’m sure I will be bombarded again with emails after people read this post, so let me just say now I am not a serial killer or psychotic. I enjoy life as much as I can and have a great sense of humor considering the things that are going on around us. All that being said, I found this great Slit Throat Choker on Etsy! The artist’s name is Tiana Rutledge and she creates this choker and many other things including Slit Wrist bracelets and Blood Drop earrings. She also makes this fantastic Black Rose ring. I just love her stuff. They are all hand sculpted from flexible polymer clay and very reasonably priced. You can get the entire Bloody Mess set for just $28. Great for Halloween obviously, but I plan on wearing mine year round. I can’t wait until I can wear it to pick up my daughter from school. Those uptight private school moms won’t know what hit them. Shocking them always makes my day.
Today is about advice not a product. Have you ever gone to a new hairdresser to get your hair dyed and come out with the scariest thing you’ve ever seen? Well, I did. My regular hairdresser moved away and I had to find someone new. Never a fun thing to do. I’m very weird with my hair. I like to do funky things with it, so I need someone that’s not afraid of color. I usually have long black hair with colored highlights. This time I just wanted to redo what I had last time which was platinum highlights. I was in a hurry on Tuesday and thought I’d try one of the cheap chains (Fantastic Sams). MISTAKE! The guy could easily see what my hair should look like, he just needed to touch up the roots and freshen up the color. Easy, right? I came out with orange hair and three different shades of blond highlights! It was horrible, to say the least. I would post a picture, but even I don’t want to scare anyone that bad. I then got a recommendation from a friend and went to a professional salon to get it fixed today. It took three hours, but it now looks gorgeous again. You get what you pay for. Lesson learned. If I can get a decent picture of my fixed hair I will add it later.
