Spider Table

Filexd under: Art,Decor,Furniture — Tags: , , , , , , , , — jane @ 8:57 pm

Spider TableI am not normally a fan of glass tables. I find them to be too contemporary for my taste and a pain in the ass to clean. Once in a while though, I find a table like this Spider Table that changes my mind and makes me rethink my personal style. I think this table is deliciously creepy. I’ve been obsessed with spiders lately, so I keep searching them out online. I think this might just creep me out too much to have it in my house, but it’s still totally cool. I think it would make me have nightmares about giant spiders chasing me like in those old movies. This particular table was designed by Judy Kensley McKie and is made from steel and glass. Unfortunately it is a one of kind, so don’t get too attached.

Chocolate Skull

Filexd under: Apparel,Food & Candy — Tags: , , , , — jane @ 6:52 pm

Chocolate Skull T-ShirtIt’s T-Shirt Tuesday again and here’s this weeks installment. This is a Chocolate Skull T-Shirt. It’s even melting which I think makes it look even more scary. I personally love dark chocolate and I think this would look more appetizing to me if it was made out of that. It may supposed to be made out of milk chocolate, but I think it looks like something else. If you don’t know what I mean take another look at it and if you still don’t see it obviously your brain is not as sick as mine.

Spider Hat

Filexd under: Apparel,Art,Decor,Fashion,Halloween Decor,Nature — Tags: , , , , , , , — jane @ 7:01 pm

Spider HatI, like many women, love hats. I obsessively buy them thinking I will look fabulous in them and then often times don’t have a place to wear them. The fancier the better. Let’s face it though. How many places can you wear an elaborate hat to? I have now found this fantastically creepy Spider Hat that I just have to buy. Unfortunately it’s $145, so it will take a little convincing to get Scary Hubby to agree that I need it. Luckily he loves when I wear a hat, so it shouldn’t be too hard. Plus, all of my hats look really good displayed in our house. So if I never find a day to wear it besides Halloween I can say it’s just part of the house decor.

SCARY_ILLUSIONSI absolutely love pictures like this. You glance at it and it’s one thing. You look closer and it’s something else entirely. So cool and this one’s creepy too!

Baby Head Candle Holder

Filexd under: Accessories,Art,Bed & Bath,Decor,Lighting — Tags: , , , , , — jane @ 7:43 pm

Baby Head Candle HolderI saw these a long time ago and was so disturbed by them that I put them in my blog book to be posted later. Yesterday I received an email from a friend and something she said reminded me of these little guys and made me decide it was time. Don’t ask. Anyway, these little hand painted porcelain guys are actually called Little Joseph Candle Holders and were designed by czech designer Maxim Velcovsky for the Qubus Design Studio. They don’t come cheap at $100 each, but they do have a very high creepy factor. What I’d like to know is why designers seem so obsessed with baby body parts like these Baby Soap Hands that I also covered a while back. I just don’t know how I feel about hot wax dripping all over these baby heads. I find this to be just too weird.

Shining Cuckoo Clock

Filexd under: Accessories,Art,Decor,Misc.,TV/Movies — Tags: , , , , , — jane @ 5:44 pm

Shining Cuckoo ClockFound the coolest Cuckoo Clock ever! If you loved Stanley Kubrick”s The Shining, you will love this Shining Cuckoo Clock. If you are actually more of a fan of the later TV version, then you won’t like this and should probably hang your head in shame and go away. Every hour Jack breaks through the door and says, “Here’s Johnny” followed by Wendy’s scream. Who wouldn’t want to wake up to that sound every hour during the night? I think I’d get tired of that after a while, but as an alarm clock it would be totally cool. This clock was designed by Chris Dimino. Unfortunately there was just one made, so not much chance of getting my hands on one.

Toddlerpedes

Filexd under: Art,Toys/Games — Tags: , , , , , — jane @ 8:28 pm

ToddlerpedeA while back I posted a picture of a strange doll sculpture. As I was poking around on the internet I finally came across where it originated from and a little bit about it. These doll sculptures are created by visual artist Jon Beinart. Toddlerpedes evolved over the years to imitate insects and mythological creatures. “I like the idea that the dolls i use in my sculptures have played important roles in so many childhoods. Personalities were attributed to each doll, which have come together to form a mega-personality… A sculpture that screams ‘Look at me!’

Now you can help him build a gargantuan Toddlerpede sculpture. “Jon is desperately searching for recycled dolls. He needs thousands of plastic doll parts to finish his latest art project, which he aims to complete by the end of 2010. Jon intends to tour an army of gargantuan Toddlerpede sculptures in public galleries throughout Australia. Your pre-loved dolls would help greatly in making an artist’s dreams come true. To donate your unwanted dollies, or doll parts, for this ambitious art installation please contact Jon.” If you are a completely non artistic type of person here is your chance to be part of a piece of art

Edward’s Shoes

Filexd under: Apparel,Fashion,TV/Movies — Tags: , , , , , — jane @ 4:42 pm

Edward's ShoesI know a lot of guys that like to dress goth. They go all out and sometimes I’m impressed at what lengths they will go to. When I first saw these Edward’s Shoes online I thought they were for women and was shocked to see that they were men’s shoes. I thought I’d show them to my goth guy friends and see what they thought of them. I turned out to be more right than I thought I would be. None of the guys would wear them and thought they were too feminine. The consensus seemed to be that none of them would be caught dead in them even if they were just trying to look dead for Halloween. Most of them felt they looked rather dorky and I have to agree. Even if they were for women I certainly wouldn’t wear them. They kind of remind me of the white shoes that men wore in the 70s only this would have been the goth version. Why did they call them Edward’s Shoes anyway? I hope it wasn’t after Edward Cullen because you can be damn sure he wouldn’t be caught dead in them either.

Sick, Sick, Sick

Filexd under: Misc. — Tags: — jane @ 9:58 am

Sick PuppyPlease excuse my non-posting. I have been sick, sick, sick for the past two days, barely lifting my head off the pillow to say goodbye to my daughter each morning. I am determined to be up and about today and to write a post. So far it’s taken me two hours to walk across the hall to my office and write this, so don’t hold your breath.

Another Spider Tattoo

Filexd under: Art,Misc.,Nature,Outdoors — Tags: , , , , , , — jane @ 2:46 pm

Spider TattooYuck! Too scary for me. Don’t know if this is real, but here it is anyway. Can you imagine standing behind her in line? It looks so real, that I’m sure someone falls for it and tells her she has a spider on her neck. I must admit though that it is very well done.

*Thanks Lisa for the photo and thanks for the creepy crawlies that I now have!
